Global Image was founded by Rob Cima in Columbia, Mo in early 1995 - the beginnings of the commercial Internet - as a web application developer. The company started out as a web site only developer, and the name "Global Image" was an indicator of that focus. The World Wide Web was "Global" and a company's web site was its "Image" on the web.
Rob soon discovered that the web was much more powerful and provided much greater opportunities than building simple web sites. Almost immediately, clients began asking questions about what else they could accomplish via the web. What other applications could be built? Could "real" work be accomplished using a web browser?
Through the late 90's, we built applications for our clients – Microsoft, the Microsoft Network, United Van Lines, Mayflower Transit, Missouri Employer's Mutual, and dozens of colleges and universities. We worked with Fortune 500 clients, and with companies small and large. And during the "internet bubble" we worked with numerous dot-coms (much to our chagrin when they didn't pay their bills, as you might imagine).
In January of 1999 the Global Image headquarters moved to St. Louis, Mo, closer to the larger business base and a bigger pool of technical talent.
Today, Global Image services customers nationwide in Health Care, Financial Services and Higher Education. Our projects have always had a common characteristic - they help marketers, salespeople and customer service people to do their jobs better.
